Bidh aig gach neach a bhith deiseil dleastanas as ghabhail airson ghnìomhan a leithid còcaireachd\, glanadh agus agus eile\, mar phàirt de sgioba agus fo stiùir iùilichean Spòrs Gàidhlig. \nTha sinn ag amas air àrainneachd a tha gu tur Gàidhlig a chruthachadh aig na campaichean seo\, far an cluinn agus cleachd an òigridh an cànan mar a bhuineas e ri beatha làitheil agus còmhradh neo-fhoirmeil. Bidh uallach air gach com-pàirtiche oidhirp a dhèanamh gus an àrainneachd ud a chumail an-àirde. ’S ann aig tachartasan nas fhaide mar seo a chì sinn an t-adhartas agus misneachadh as motha a thaobh Gàidhlig\, ach cha tig sin mura bi a’ bhuidheann gu lèir deònach a’ Ghàidhlig a bhruidhinn. \n \nJoin Spòrs Gàidhlig for a camp full of fun and adventure in the Isle of Skye\, exploring the island’s mountains\, gorges and lochs with a action-packed programme – all through the medium of Gaelic! \nOver five days\, between 20-24th October 2025\, participants will be fully immersed in adventurous activities\, cultural exploration and the Gaelic language\, as well getting to know friends new and old in an amazing environment. \nWe will have to adapt the programme to the autumnal weather\, but we expect the week to feature paddleboarding\, a mountain adventure\, climbing\, gorge scrambling\, cultural excursions and more! \nThe camp will be based at Torrin Bunkhouse in Skye\, where we will meet on the afternoon of Monday 21st October. Participants are welcome to meet us in Inverness in the morning and travel to Skye in Spòrs Gàidhlig’s minibus if they would prefer. \nThis camp for competent young people will offer great opportunities for personal development. Each individual will have a responsibility to work effectively as part of the team and carry out tasks like helping prepare for meals\, cleaning up and being ready for the day’s tasks\, under the guidance of Spòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors. \n \nGàidhlig \nThis is a camp for fluent Gaelic speakers. Spòrs Gàidhlig aim to create a complete a fully-immersive Gaelic environment\, where young people can hear and use the language in informal settings and in novel environments. It is during multi-day events such as these that we see the greatest impact with regards to participants’ confidence in using Gaelic socially\, and their esteem for the language\, but for this to work requires the commitment of the entire party. Every participant must understand therefore that they have a reponsibility to uphold this environment and make every effort to use Gaelic. \nHow difficult will the camp’s activities be? \nThis trip is suitable for active individuals in S1-4 who are prepared for a challenge in the outdoors. \nParticipants should expect to be tired at the end of each day. A multi-day camp like this requires concerted effort to complete not only the day’s excursions but also evening tasks relating to preparing food\, managing equipment and looking after our accommodation. \nWhat safety precautions do you take? \nSpòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors are highly experienced and are formally qualified to the appropriate level to be delivering these activities. \nEach instructor carries a first-aid kit\, and where appropriate\, a walkie talkie/radio for communication within the group. They will also have a mobile phone which can be used where coverage allows. \nTrips are flexible. Routes can be amended to adapt to Scotland’s highly changeable weather and instructors’ judgement of the group’s capabilities. The priority is always getting everyone back safely\, even if that means not fulfilling an objective. If this happens\, it is often a more valuable learning experience than an easy success! \n \nWhat equipment do you provide? \n\nFood for 3 meals each day.\nAll technical equipment (paddleboards\, wetsuits etc)\nWe can provide sleeping bags for use in the bunkhouse\, or participants are welcome to bring their own.\n\nA full kit list will be provided upon signing up to the trip. \nAn online briefing meeting will be arranged for participants and parents approximately 3 weeks before the trip takes place. \nOpen to Gaelic-speaking teenagers in S1-S4 after the 2025 summer holidays. \nWhat have past participants at Campa nan Torran said? \n“It was an amazing opportunity for the children to spend a week immersed in Gaelic and doing really fantastic activities that challenged them. They will have amazing memories of it\, and will have learned so many skills from the activities and in terms of their Gaelic.“ \n“My daughter loved every minute of it! The tutors were excellent\, the accommodation was great\, the food was fantastic\, the activities were exciting and fun!“ \n“My son came home speaking much more Gaelic than before. It has significantly increased the likelihood of him using Gaelic with his friends\, especially the group of friends who were at the camp together – they got used to speaking to each other in Gaelic and that has become much more the norm for them. The tutors are excellent role models for the children in terms of speaking Gaelic – they are seeing people outside of school or their own home speaking Gaelic – young\, ‘cool'(!) people – and this makes them much more likely to use it themselves.“ \nWe are aware that this week in October is not a school holiday for every area of Scotland. In the past\, some schools have granted authorised absence in order that young people can attend a Spòrs Gàidhlig camp. We would be more than happy to speak to schools about this if required.

Tha Spòrs Gàidhlig a’ glèidheil na còrach an t-slighe no an turas atharrachdainn mar a mheasas iad iomchaidh. Tha Spòrs Gàidhlig cuideachd a’ glèidheil na còrach neach sam bith \nFosgailte gu S3-6. \n \nJoin us on Spòrs Gàidhlig’s big summer mountain challenge 2024! \nOver five days\, between 28th July and 2nd August 2025 we will embark on an epic journey through the mountains\, and glens of Knoydart\, one of the most rugged and remote areas of the Highlands. We will learn mountain skills and build confidence by undertaking a real challenge as part of a group. We will camp for five nights and move through the mountainous environment carrying everything we need to be self-sufficient. High summits will be reached and we will get magnificent views of the Highland landscape only seen by those willing to put in a special effort. \nThe group will meet at 11:30 in Fort William on Monday 28th July. We will prepare equipment\, pack our bags and depart in Spòrs Gàidhlig’s minibus to the start of our expedition at Kinlochhourn. We will then spend 5 days on a spectacular mountain walking and camping adventure. On Friday 1st August we will arrive in the most remote village in the UK: Inverie. Here we will get a well-deserved dinner and stay at the village campsite. In the morning of Saturday 2nd August we will take the small Knoydart Ferry to Mallaig and catch the train back to Fort William for lunchtime where the trip will end at 12:00. \nThis trip for competent young people will offer great opportunities for personal development. Each individual will have a responsibility to work effectively as part of the team and carry out tasks like cooking camp meals and putting up their tents under the guidance of Spòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors. \n \nGàidhlig \nThis is a trip for fluent Gaelic speakers. It is on multi-day trips such as these that we see the greatest impact with regards to participants’ confidence in using Gaelic socially\, and their esteem for the language. We aim to create a fully-immersive Gaelic environment\, which requires the involvement of the entire party to succeed. Every participant must understand therefore that they have a reponsibility to uphold this environment and make every effort to use Gaelic. \nHow difficult will the trip be? \nThis trip is suitable for active individuals in S3-6 who are prepared for a challenge in the outdoors. \nParticipants should expect to be tired at the end of each day. A multi-day journey like this requires concerted effort to complete\, both while travelling and in evening tasks relating to setting up camp\, preparing food and dealing with inclement weather. We will be moving in mountainous terrain while carrying everything we need to look after ourselves\, including sleeping bags\, tents and stoves. \nWe will aim to reach Munro summits\, and the days will include significant elevation gain as weather allows. \nThe committing and challenging nature of this expedition means that it is not suitable for those who do not have a genuine interest in the activity. We would ask that participants understand the challenges that will be involved and\, simply put\, actually want to be there. \nWhat safety precautions do you take? \nSpòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors are highly experienced and are formally qualified to the appropriate level to be delivering these activities. In this case\, they hold the Summer Mountain Leader award and a valid outdoor first aid certificate. \nEach instructor carries a first-aid kit\, and where appropriate\, a walkie talkie/radio for communication within the group. They will also have a mobile phone which can be used where coverage allows\, and a PLB in the group. \n \nWill you explain how equipment is used? \nBoth for safety and participants’ enjoyment of the trip\, full briefings will be given on all equipment. Spòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors will ensure that everyone knows how to safely use their stove\, and use of these will be monitored. Help will be provided with setting up tents where this is required\, and throughout the trip participants will learn how to effectively look after themselves in mountainous environments. \nWhat equipment do you provide? \n\nDry bags\nTent\nSleeping bag\nFoam camping mat\nCamping stoves and fuel\nFood for 3 meals each day. (Participants should bring any additional snacks they might want)\n\nA full kit list will be provided upon signing up to the trip. \nAn online briefing meeting will be arranged for participants and parents approximately 3 weeks before the trip takes place. \nOpen to Gaelic-speaking teenagers who will be in S3-S6 after the summer holidays. \n* The Highland Council Gaelic Team have provided funding to subsidise 6 places on this trip exclusively for young people from within the Highland Council area. These will be allocated on a first come\, first serve basis. * \nSpòrs Gàidhlig reserves the right to refuse a place on this trip to anyone they do not feel meets the required level of skill\, fitness or commitment to maintaining the Gaelic environment within the group. \nThis trip would qualify as a suitable practice expedition for the Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

An uairsin falbhaidh sinn ann am bus Spòrs Gàidhlig gu toiseach na cuairt againn ann an Tolostadh\, agus thèid sinn a-mach gu na monaidhean fad dà latha. Leanaidh sinn slighe iongantach eadar Tolastadh bho Thuath agus Sgiogarstaigh\, far am faic sinn creagan àrda\, tràighean àlainn agus na h-àirighean ainmeil deas air Nis. Leis a sin\, bidh uallach air gach com-pàirtiche oidhirp a dhèanamh gus àrainneachd Ghàidhlig a chumail an-àirde. \nFosgailte gu S1-4. \n \nJoin Spòrs Gàidhlig for an exciting walking and camping adventure in Lewis! \nOver two days and one night\, we will embark on an epic journey through the wild and uninhabited east coast of the island. The trip will be an amazing opportunity to learn new skills and build confidence as part of a group. We will wild camp and carry everything we need to be self-sufficient\, camping\, cooking and moving through the island environment. Every part of the trip will happen in Gaelic\, and under the guidance of Spòrs Gàidhlig’s experienced instructors. \nThe group will meet at the South Beach Car Park in Stornoway at 10:00 on Friday 11th April. We will then drive in Spòrs Gàidhlig’s minibus to the Coll Centre to prepare equipment\, pack our bags and depart to the start of our expedition in Tolsta. We will then spend 2 days on a spectacular walking and camping adventure. On Saturday 12th April we will return in the bus to Stornoway and be finished by 16:30. \n \nGàidhlig \nThis is a trip for fluent Gaelic speakers. It is on multi-day trips such as these that we see the greatest impact with regards to participants’ confidence in using Gaelic socially\, and their esteem for the language. We create a fully-immersive Gaelic environment\, which requires the involvement of the entire party to succeed. Every participant must understand therefore that they have a reponsibility to uphold this environment and make every effort to use Gaelic. \nHow difficult will the trip be? \nThis trip is for fluent Gaelic speakers in S1-4 who enjoy spending time in the outdoors and have a basic level of fitness. \nParticipants should expect to be tired at the end of each day. A multi-day journey like this requires effort to complete\, both while travelling and in evening tasks relating to setting up camp\, preparing food and dealing with potentially inclement weather. We will be moving in rough terrain while carrying everything we need to look after ourselves\, including sleeping bags\, tents and stoves. \nWhat safety precautions do you take? \nSpòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors are highly experienced and are formally qualified to the appropriate level to be delivering these activities. In this case\, the lead instructor holds the Summer Mountain Leader award and a valid outdoor first aid certificate. \n\nDry bags\nTent\nSleeping bag\nBasic roll-up camping mat\nCamping stoves and fuel\nFood for each day’s meals. (Participants should bring any additional snacks they might want)\nWe have a selection of waterproof jackets and trousers for participant use\n\nA full kit list will be provided upon signing up to the trip. \nAn online briefing meeting will be arranged for participants and parents approximately 3 weeks before the trip takes place. \nOpen to Gaelic-speaking teenagers in S1-S4. \nSpòrs Gàidhlig reserves the right to refuse a place on this trip to anyone they do not feel meets the required level of skill\, fitness or commitment to maintaining the Gaelic environment within the group. \nLe taic bho Bhòrd na Gàidhlig agus Comhairle nan Eilean Siar.

Faodaidh daoine ar coinneachadh ann an Inbhir Nis sa mhadainn agus siubhail còmhla rinn ann am bus Spòrs Gàidhlig\, ma thogras iad. \nBheir an campa seo cothrom air leth air fèin-leasachadh don òigridh a bhios an sàs. Bidh dleastanas aig gach neach iad fhèin ullachadh agus a ghiùilan airson a bhith a’ gabhail dleastanas airson ghnìomhan a leithid còcaireachd\, glanadh agus agus eile\, mar phàirt de sgioba agus fo stiùir iùilichean Spòrs Gàidhlig. \nA thuilleadh air a sin\, bidh uallach air gach com-pàirtiche oidhirp a dhèanamh gus àrainneachd Ghàidhlig a chumail an-àirde. ‘S ann aig tachartasan nas fhaide mar seo a chì sinn an t-adhartas agus misneachadh as motha a thaobh Gàidhlig\, ach cha tig sin mura bi a’ bhuidheann gu lèir deònach a’ Ghàidhlig a bhruidhinn. \n  \n  \nJoin us for an adventure camp with Spòrs Gàidhlig in the Isle of Skye\, exploring the island’s mountains\, gorges and lochs with a fun-packed programme all through the medium of Gaelic! \nOver five days\, between 21-25 October 2024\, participants will be fully immersed in adventurous activities\, cultural exploration and the Gaelic language\, as well getting to know friends new and old in an amazing environment. \nWe will have to adapt to the autumnal weather\, but we expect the programme to feature paddleboarding\, a mountain adventure\, climbing\, gorge scrambling\, cultural excursions and more! Each individual will have a responsibility to work effectively as part of the team and carry out tasks like cooking meals\, cleaning up and being ready for the day’s tasks\, under the guidance of Spòrs Gàidhlig’s instructors. \n \nGàidhlig \nThis is a camp for fluent Gaelic speakers. It is during multi-day events such as these that we see the greatest impact with regards to participants’ confidence in using Gaelic socially\, and their esteem for the language. We aim to create a fully-immersive Gaelic environment\, which requires the involvement of the entire party to succeed. Every participant must understand therefore that they have a reponsibility to uphold this environment and make every effort to use Gaelic. \nHow difficult will the camps activities be? \nThis trip is suitable for active individuals in S1-3 who are prepared for a challenge in the outdoors. \n\nFood for 3 meals each day. (Participants should bring any additional snacks they might want\nAll technical equipment (paddleboards\, wetsuits etc)\n\nA full kit list will be provided upon signing up to the trip. \nAn online briefing meeting will be arranged for participants and parents approximately 3 weeks before the trip takes place. \nOpen to Gaelic-speaking teenagers in S1-S3 after the 2024 summer holidays.

Bidh dleastanas aig gach neach iad fhèin a ghiùlan ann an dòigh èifeachdach agus airson ghnìomhan a leithid còcaireachd agus cur an-àirde teanta a dhèanamh dhaibh fhèin\, mar phàirt de sgioba agus fo stiùir iùilichean Spòrs Gàidhlig. \nA thuilleadh air a sin\, bidh uallach air gach com-pàirtiche oidhirp a dhèanamh gus àrainneachd Ghàidhlig a chumail an-àirde. ‘S ann air na tursan mòra\, diana seo a chì sinn an t-adhartas agus misneachadh as motha a thaobh Gàidhlig\, ach cha tig sin mura bi a’ bhuidheann gu lèir deònach a’ Ghàidhlig a bhruidhinn. \nFosgailte gu S3-6. \n \nJoin us on Spòrs Gàidhlig’s big summer mountain challenge 2024! \nOver five days\, between 29th July and 2nd August 2024 we will embark on an epic journey through the mountains\, and glens of the Highlands. We will learn mountain skills and build confidence by undertaking a real challenge as part of a group. We will wild camp for four nights and move through the mountainous environment carrying everything we need to be self-sufficient. High summits will be reached and we will get magnificent views of the Highland landscape only seen by those willing to put in a special effort. \nThe group will meet in Inverness on Monday 29th July. We will prepare equipment\, pack our bags and depart in Spòrs Gàidhlig’s minibus to the start of our expedition. We will then spend 4 days on a spectacular mountain walking and camping adventure. On Friday 2nd August we will be met in the morning by the Spòrs Gàidhlig bus and go for lunch in a local restaurant before returning to Inverness in the afternoon to travel home. \nWe have deliberately left the exact route and area we will be aiming for open until just before the trip. This will give us maximum flexibility and allow us to chase good weather to give the group the absolute best experience of the Scottish mountains possible. The trip will happen within the Highland Council area\, and with favourable conditions we will aim to journey into a remote area such as is found in Knoydart\, Kintail\, Wester Ross or Assynt. \n\nDry bags\nTent\nSleeping bag\nBasic roll-up camping mat\nCamping stoves and fuel\nFood for 3 meals each day. \n* The Highland Council Gaelic Team have provided funding to subsidise 9 places on this trip exclusively for young people from within the Highland Council area.

SUMMARY:Campa Sradagan (1) 2024 - Fairburn\, £330
DESCRIPTION:  \n\n\n\nTha CnaG a’ dol a chumail dà champa Sradagan ann an 2024. Às dèidh dhuinn fios fhaighinn air cho mòr ’s a chòrd Ionad Fairburn an uiridh ri òigridh agus luchd-obrach\, tha sinn gu bhith a’ tilleadh ann airson dàrna bliadhna! Tha Ionad Chur-Seachadan Fairburn faisg air Inbhir Pheotharain\, agus mu 20 mìle tuath air Inbhir Nis. Mar às àbhaist bidh am prògram againn làn de spòrs ‘s fealla-dha! Thigeabh còmhla rinn! \n‘S e cothrom air leth a tha seo eòlas a chur air clann eile aig a bheil Gàidhlig ann an suidheachadh spòrsail agus comhurtail. Thèid barrachd fios mun phrògram fhoillseachadh rè ùine\, ach faodaidh sibh a bhith cìnnteach gum bith e ìnntinneach is tarruingeach – agus air fad tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig – a’ toirt cothrom dhan chlann an cuid Gàidhlig a chleachdadh taobh a-muigh na sgoile. \nTha na campaichean seo fosgailte do chloinn 8+ gu 12 agus a tha ann am foghlam Gàidhlig. Feumaidh gach com-pàirtiche a bhith sa bhun-sgoil no dìreach às dèidh na bun-sgoile fhàgail.  \nCosgaidh an campa £330 uile gu lèir\, ach chan eil a dhìth oirnn an toiseach ach £100 airson àite a ghlèidheadh air a’ champa. Bidh an còrr\, £230\, ri phàigheadh aig toiseach an t-Ògmhios. B’fheudar do Fairburn £43 gach pàiste a chur ri prìs a’ champa am bliadhna. Gus pàrantan a chuideachadh\, chan eil CnaG ach air £30 a chur ri prìs slàn a’ champa.  \nTha an cosgais seo a’ gabhail a-steach biadh\, àite-fuirich agus gach cur-seachad air a’ phrògram. Bidh sinn a’ sùileachadh gun toir pàrantan an cuid cloinne chun champ agus a thighinn dhan togail aig deireadh na seachdain – ach ma tha ceistean na dùbhlain agaibh a thaobh siubhal leig fios dhuinn. Mathaid gum bith cothrom aig pàrantan obrachadh còmhla airson an uallach seo a roinn eatorra.\nCnaG will be running two Sradagan Camps in 2024. Following very positive feedback from young people and staff in 2023 about the Fairburn Activity Centre\, we’ll be returning there for a second year! The Fairburn Activity Centre is near Dingwall\, and about 20 miles north of Inverness. As always we’ll have a fun-packed and exciting programme! Come and join us! \nCampa Sradagan are popular and well-established Gaelic-medium events allowing young Gaelic speakers or learners to meet new friends. Full details of the programme will be available in due course\, but you can be sure it will be interesting and engaging – and completely through the medium of Gaelic – giving the children a chance to use their Gaelic outside the classroom. \nThese camps are open to young people aged 8-12 and who are currently in\, or have just left\, GME at primary level. \nThe camp will cost a total of £330\, but we will only require an initial deposit of £100 to book a place. The balance\, £230 will be due at the beginning of June. Due to their increased costs\, Fairburn has increased the price per child by £43 this year – however CnaG has only raised the total price camp by £30 in order to assist parents as much as possible. \nThis price includes accommodation\, food and all the programme activities. We will expect parents to bring their children too the camp\, and to collect them at the end of the week – but please speak to us if you have any questions about travel – there may be opportunities to work with other parents to share this responsibility.
